Focus: Fun, Freshmeat (stopping, changing direction, hip checking and potentially falling).
What You Need
Divide players into evenly sized teams. Then present each team with their own 'treasure chest' (hoop) and their treasure which they place on the ground in their hoop. Skaters are pirates who can be a plunderer (trying to steal opponents treasure) or a protector (trying to keep their own treasure safe). Neither plunderers or protectors can step inside the hoops.
If a protector hip checks a skater carrying plundered treasure, the plunderer must drop the treasure and perform a fitness activity (such as five star jumps or four press ups) before returning to the game. In the meantime, the protector can grab the treasure and return it to its chest.
The game ends either when one team has captured all of another team's treasure or when the coach blows the whistle - the winner is then the one with the most treasure.
You can play with more than just two teams - that depends on how many skaters you have.
Remind skaters that they can protect the plunderers carrying treasure on their team from getting hip checked.
